Blood+: Halloween-The Wrath of Michael Myers

Prologue-An Oath for Vengeance

June 1963, Haddonfield, Illinois

His stepdad hated him.  So did his sister.  They didn’t think he mattered.  Did his mother hate him?  He didn’t know.  She had always acted like she cared, but did she?  Did she ever stop the hateful comments of his stepdad and sister?  No.  She must not care about him either.  That’s why he was out here, in the cold night, running.  Running to get away from it all.  Running until he found some nice quiet place where he could just end it.
The nine-year-old boy tried to keep the tears from coming as he passed the park.  They wouldn’t stop, no matter how hard he tried.  He finally could take it no longer and slumped to the ground.
“Stop!” he cried, “Just stop!”
Then the boy heard a sound, something he wasn’t expecting.  Who could be out here at this time of night?  He stopped and listened intently.  It sounded like someone was… singing.  As he listened on, he noticed that it was a girl’s voice.  He also noticed that it was… beautiful.  More beautiful than any voice he’d ever heard.  The boy slowly got up and moved into the park to get a look at the singer.  It was indeed a girl, at least seventeen or eighteen years old, with long dark hair and pale white skin.  She was wearing a long white gown with blue lining and in her hair she had something the boy had never seen before, a blue rose.
As the boy moved slowly closer to her, the girl stopped singing and looked directly at him, showing him two beautiful blue eyes that were the same color as the rose in her hair.  The boy stopped dead in his tracks and thought of running away but something kept him in place.  The girl smiled at him, then spoke.
“Hello.”
“Uh, h-hi,” the boy stammered back.
“What are you doing out here at this hour?”
“Well, I, uh, I…”
“Won’t your parents be worried if they find out you ran away?”
The boy’s eyes widened.  The girl had actually known he was running away!  How?!  The boy could only bow his head in sadness.
“I… don’t care.  If they know or not, it will be too late.”
The girl tilted her head to one side, puzzled.  “Why will it be too late?”
“Because soon… I’ll be dead.”
“Why?”
“Because I’m worthless.  I don’t matter in this world.  If I die tonight no one will notice.”
“But, aren’t you afraid to die?”
“No.  My stepdad hates me, my sister hates me, my mother could care less, I’m picked on by all the kids at school, I have no one in this world.  I’m all alone, and I can’t live like that.”
The tears came again, but the boy didn’t try to fight them.  Instead he just let them fall.  Then he felt something wrap around him.  He opened his eyes to find that the girl had gotten up and hugged him in a gentle embrace.
“You’re not alone,” she said, “You’ve got me.”
The boy looked up into the girl’s smiling face.  He saw no sign of deceit, only a warm, caring smile that he knew he could trust.  He felt a warmth in his heart that he’d thought he’d lost.
“Thank you,” he said.
“For what?” the girl asked.
The boy returned her embrace.  “For making me happy again.”
“My name’s Diva,” said the girl, “What’s yours?”
The boy looked at her again.  “Michael,” he said, “Michael Myers.”

October 31 2006, Metropolitan Opera House, New York

“So you’re saying… Chiropterans shouldn’t be allowed to exist?”
Diva stepped back a pace as Saya advanced on her.
“Does that mean… that you would kill my little babies as well, big sister?”
Saya looked out into the audience.  There sat Nathan, and next to him was a cradle.  In the cradle were two Chiropteran pods that held Diva’s children.
“Aww, aren’t they the cutest things?” Diva continued, “My two adorable baby daughters.  So, what do you plan to do about yourself, Saya?”
Saya walked forward, her gaze fixed on Diva.
“I know… I’m a Chiropteran… as well,” she said, “I have nothing more to say to you.”
Saya readied her sword and pricked her finger with the sharp blade so that her blood would seep into the grooves that were carved into it.  Diva followed suit with her blade.
“Nor I to you,” she said.
With all her strength, Saya rushed at her sister and their swords clanged together.  Diva did the same.  Again and again the two queens rushed at each other, slashing at one another, sometimes tearing each other’s clothing, other times their blows rebounding off each other’s blades.  Then the two paused.  Saya ripped off the bottom part of her outfit and Diva tore away the bat wings on hers, also tearing off her left sleeve.  They both readied their swords for the final blow.
“Here we go,” said Diva.
The two queens rushed at each other one final time, but this time both their blades made contact and went straight through both their chests.  The two parted and threw down their swords.  There was a long pause, then a cracking sound came… only from Diva.
Saya gasped as she realized what was happening.  “Diva!”
“Why is it… why is it only… happening… to me… Saya?!”
“Diva!”
Saya rushed over to her sister as Diva’s arm crystallized and fell off.  Saya caught it and frantically tried to place it back on.
“I’ll help you!”
“Big… sister…”
“I’ll help you!”
But she couldn’t.  As the rest of Diva’s body crystallized she fell to the ground.  She looked with a saddened expression at her two daughters.
“Goodbye, my… little… ones…”
But in her mind, she said goodbye to someone else, someone that she had considered her own son that fateful night in 1963.
“Goodbye… Michael…”

Elsewhere, Haddonfield, Illinois

The last member of Michael’s family line cowered before him.  John Tate, son of Laurie Strode, had lost.  Michael raised the knife in his hand to make the final kill, but suddenly he felt something.  It felt as if his heart had been split in two.  He dropped the knife and clutched his chest as he wondered what this meant.
The images flashed through his mind.  A girl lying on a stage, her body crystallized, dead.  Michael’s eyes widened under his mask as he recognized the girl almost instantly; Diva!
He tried to call out to her in his mind, tried to reach her.  He wanted to hear her voice in his head, to hear her tell him, “I’m all right, Michael.  I’m all right.”  He heard nothing.  Nothing.  Was she… dead?  No.  No!  It was not possible!
Michael Myers dropped to his knees.  He wanted this to be a dream, just some horrible dream.  It wasn’t.  Diva, the only person he’d ever truly loved, was… dead!  As he realized this, a tear fell through the eyehole in his mask and splattered on the ground.
John Tate, who was confused by this strange turn of events, slowly moved toward the knife that Michael had dropped.  As he neared it, Michael suddenly got up, picked up the knife, pushed Tate over to the back alley wall, and impaled him through the chest.  In all his rage, fury, and pain, he stabbed Tate again and again and again, until John Tate finally dropped to the ground.
Michael then did something he hadn’t done in a long time; he removed his mask and made the first sound he’d made in decades, a loud, painful, angered scream.
“DIIIIIIIIIIIIIVAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Michael slumped to the ground and wept.  It was all he could do now.  His entire family was dead.  His work had been finished.

No.  Not yet.  I still have one more task to complete.  Diva… you didn’t deserve to die.  I loved you.  You were so kind to me, like a mother.  You were… like a second mother.  Don’t worry, Diva.  Your death will not go unpunished.  I will find your killer, Diva.  I will make them suffer.  I swear it.

Well, if any of you have been keeping count, you would know that this year will mark the 30th anniversary of the release of Halloween 1. That is why I have chosen to start a Blood+/Halloween crossover. The coming chapters will take place five years after the events of Blood+.

EDIT: Sorry about spoiling Diva's last moments in Blood+ for anyone who hasn't watched the show.

It's better if you've watched Blood+ and seen any of the Halloween films, mainly Rob Zombie's Halloween, so that you'd get a better feel for the characters.
wow, nice, good work
